Affiliate Disclosure
BritWagerDesk is transparent about how it is funded. This page explains our affiliate relationships in full.
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a model in which a website — in this case BritWagerDesk — earns a referral commission when a visitor clicks a link on the site and takes a qualifying action with a third party. In the context of sports betting comparison, that typically means clicking through to a listed operator and registering an account or placing a qualifying bet.
This is a standard funding model for independent comparison and review websites operating in the betting, insurance, finance, and retail sectors. The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Gambling Commission expect affiliate-funded betting comparison sites to disclose this clearly.
How BritWagerDesk earns revenue
When you click a link from BritWagerDesk to a listed betting operator, the link includes tracking parameters (such as utm_source, ref, or similar identifiers). If you subsequently register with that operator and meet their qualifying criteria, BritWagerDesk receives a commission from the operator.
Commission structures vary by operator and may be based on:
- A fixed fee per qualifying referral (cost-per-acquisition or CPA)
- A percentage of net revenue generated by referred players (revenue share)
- A combination of both models
BritWagerDesk does not receive commission for page views, clicks alone, or comparisons. Commission is only earned when a referred user completes a qualifying action with the operator.
Affiliate relationships and editorial independence
All five operators currently listed on BritWagerDesk have an existing or potential affiliate relationship with this site. This means we have a financial incentive for users to click through to those products.
We manage this conflict of interest through the following commitments:
- Editorial scores are determined by our review criteria, not by commission rates. An operator paying a higher commission rate does not receive a higher score as a result.
- Operators are not listed in order of commission value. Our comparison order reflects our editorial review scores where relevant.
- We do not accept payment for editorial content, score upgrades, or favourable placement in reviews.
- Affiliate relationships do not prevent us from identifying and disclosing shortcomings in a product's terms, features, or responsible gambling tools.
Which products are covered
The five betting products currently reviewed on BritWagerDesk were selected based on their relevance to UK users and the availability of publicly accessible information for review. We do not include every UK-facing betting product, and the products listed are not the only options available to UK bettors.
We do not list unregulated operators, operators marketed as alternatives to GAMSTOP, or operators primarily targeting markets outside the UK.
Your obligations
Regardless of how you arrive at a betting operator, your agreement is directly with that operator, not with BritWagerDesk. You must read and accept the operator's terms and conditions, and you are bound by their account rules, not ours.
BritWagerDesk earns a commission if you use our links — but that does not create any obligation or responsibility on our part for the operator's conduct, offers, or account management. If you have a dispute with an operator, you should contact them directly or escalate to the UK Gambling Commission or the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) if relevant.
